Mr. Habib was appointed Chief of the Citizens-Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) Sindh on July 31, 2015, by the then Governor of Sindh, Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan. His appointment was subsequently endorsed by the CPLC Advisory Board on October 2, 2015.
His association with CPLC dates back to its inception in 1989, making him one of its founding members. He served as the first District Chief of CPLC ZRC West from 1993 to 2007. During his long association with the organization, he also served as Chief of CPLC ZRC Malir, East and South districts and subsequently held the position of Deputy Chief, CPLC Central Reporting Cell. He also headed the Charged Parking Project, a joint initiative of CPLC and the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC).

Tamgha-e-Imtiaz

Alongside his civic activities, Mr. Habib has had an extensive career in business, industry and economic development.
He has been serving as Director of JinKwang JAZ (Pvt.) Ltd. since 2004. From 2005 to 2012, he served as Chief Executive of National Industrial Parks (NIP), an organization established under the Ministry of Industries and Production, Government of Pakistan.
Earlier, from 1988 to 2005, he served as Chief Executive and Director of Exports and Development at Union Industries (Pvt.) Ltd., Karachi.
His professional experience also includes service on the Board of Directors of Sui Southern Gas Company, where he was a member of the Finance Committee from 2011 to 2013.
Role in the Business Community
Mr. Habib has remained actively involved with the Karachi business community. He served as a member of the Managing Committee of the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) during 1988–89 and was again elected to the committee for the period 1995–1998.
He was also recommended by the business community to serve as Chairman of the Research and Economic Development Sub-Committee from 1996 to 1998.
His involvement in trade, industry and economic development has enabled him to participate in discussions and initiatives concerning Pakistan's industrial growth, exports and economic image.
