Fazil Jamili

Fazil Jamili is an Urdu Poet and journalist from Haripur Hazara living in Karachi since 1986. Currently he is Editor of Daily Jang Online Editions in Karachi. Before rejoining the Jang Group he was Editor Content at Samaa Tv and before Samaa he was Resident Editor of Daily AAJKAL, a sister organization of Daily Times. He has proficient record of working with Jang Group as Deputy Editor of Daily Awam. He has been active in struggle for journalists' rights and has twice been elected as general secretary of Karachi Union of Journalists. He is also elected member of federal executive committee of Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ). He remained Chairman of Literary Committee of Karachi Press Club for years.
His poems like darakhon key liyee aik nazm, aalmi maqtool and iqbal e jurm are considered as new dimensions of Urdu Poetry. Fazil Jamili was born in a small village called Pind Khan Khel, near Haripur, Hazara, in 1968. During early education at Government High School, Kot Najeebullah he became the president of Bazm-e-Adab, and especially his romantic poetry thrilled the students. Later on, he in guidance of Qazi Jamil-ur-Rahman and association with Hafeez Asar, Riaz Saghar, Jawed Qureshi, Siddique Manzar, Afsar Minhas, Mohammad Riaz, Saeed Ashhar, Riazur Rehman, and Waheed Qureshi, he got a place in literary circles of Hazara as well as the whole country.
