Liza Eqbal Mehdi: Politician, Human Rights Activist, Philanthropist and Art Promoter



Liza Eqbal Mehdi is a Pakistani politician, human rights activist, philanthropist, and advocate for interfaith harmony. She has earned recognition for her contributions to public service, social welfare, and the promotion of Pakistan's cultural heritage. On 18 May 2017, marking the 9th death anniversary of Eqbal Mehdi, an exclusive exhibition of paintings and pen-and-ink drawings curated by Liza Eqbal Mehdi was inaugurated by Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party. The exhibition was held at the Ahmed Pervez Art Gallery, Arts Council of Pakistan, Karachi, celebrating the remarkable artistic contributions of Eqbal Mehdi to Pakistan's visual arts.

Liza Eqbal Mehdi received her education at Government Degree College Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Karachi, and completed her schooling at St. Patrick's Girls High School, Karachi, one of the city's well-known educational institutions.

Through her multifaceted career in politics, social activism, philanthropy, interfaith initiatives, and cultural preservation, Liza Eqbal Mehdi continues to contribute to Pakistan's civic and cultural landscape while honoring the artistic heritage of her family.
