Mr. Abdul Kader Jaffer hails from a well known background of philanthropy. An eminent businessman, he is currently Chairman Ahmed Jaffer Group of Companies. Between 2000 and 2003, he served as Pakistan’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom. In 1971, the Government of Pakistan awarded him the Tamgha e Khidmat for services to the nation. In 1988, The President of Brazil conferred upon him the nation’s high award “Commander of the Southern Cross”.
Mr Jaffer also received the high award “Chevalier De l’Ordre National Du Merite” from the Government of France in 1995. He has actively engaged in fostering Pakistan’s economic interests by establishing and serving on several bilateral business forums. Mr Jaffer served as President of the English Speaking Union of Pakistan from 1996 to 2000.
